When the things we own are beautiful, functional and practical they become indispensable. U/F knows that good design is the only way to stem our use-and-dispose culture.

We have access to a hugely distributed network of talented, practical and innovative thinkers and we are constantly amazed by the depth of skill in the Somerville/Cambridge area. Working locally we enjoy a tight, quick and accurate feedback loop on projects. Challenges are addressed immediately, changes managed quickly and in person, and the ideas of all project stakeholders come through without distortion.

After a successful, educational release and a lot of great press coverage of our inaugural product, T0001, U/F has expanded into its own space here at Fringe. Most of our time these days is consumed with brainstorming, friendly but spirited argument and lots of time at the drawing board. We look forward to dropping several furniture pieces by fall 2011, we are currently bidding our next interior and always puzzling on ideas, concepts and products to make us more efficient.
